The suspense is mounting. Watch “Behind the Scenes” to find out how the unique, authentic and coveted best Award trophy is created. The Innovations Award for Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2023 is created directly in the heart of Baden-Württmberg. It’s made in Germany for the international world of sheet metal working:
A plate made of hot-rolled raw steel with a thickness of 10 mm is inserted into the workpiece carrier. The original “best” emblem is laser-cut on a high precision, automated high-tech machine. The laser-cut edges of the letters and the body of the trophy are deburred. The stable base plate is also made of hot-rolled raw steel and is invisibly screwed to the surface of the trophy. The entire assembly is matt lacquered for corrosion and finger protection. Elegant lettering is then added.
Each trophy is unique because the original steel surface is left as is, thus expressing greatest appreciation for the innovative strength of the winners. From the industry sector for the industry sector.

Challenges on the steel markets in 2023

On 07 November 2023, the 1st day of Blechexpo 2023, there will be an additional highlight at the trade fair in Stuttgart: After the successful start in 2021, the trade fair organizers, P.E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG, have decided to organize the Blechexpo Stahl Convent 2023. Its motto is “Challenges on the steel markets in 2023”. The Convent is organized by the Stahl-Kommunikation agency. The venue will be the forum area in exhibition hall 10.
The event is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm. We cordially invite you to this event already today. Participation is free of charge.

In times of climate protection, new, energy- and climate-friendly paths for steel production are being researched worldwide or have already been successfully taken. The “green transformation” of industry has been pursued with great vigour for some time. Decarbonization is on everyone’s lips, and green hydrogen is supposed to help make steel production lower in emissions. It is only logical that this not only protects the climate and the environment, but also enormously increases costs along the steel process chain.

The situation is further aggravated by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which is further exacerbating the situation on the steel markets.

Renowned speakers from leading international companies will speak about this complex of topics and discuss them with visitors to the Convention.

Interested parties are requested to register bindingly by 15 October 2023 latest with full name and. telephone number at hgd@stahl-kommunikation.de.

During Schall’s anniversary year, we’re visiting excellence partners associated with our international trade fairs. TRUMPF in Ditzingen, Germany, has opened its doors to us today and is providing us with exciting insights into the globally active high-tech company with more than 16,000 employees We’re welcomed by Joachim Silber, Director of Corporate Marketing, Sales + Services.

As international technology leaders and longstanding Blechexpo exhibitors, TRUMPF has played a significant role in shaping Blechexpo’s success story thanks to their active association with Schall and their valuable involvement in the trade fair advisory board. Blechexpo is held once every two years in Stuttgart along with its companion trade fair Schweisstec. Today, Blechexpo presents worldwide offerings for products and solutions for the industrial processing of sheet metal, pipe and profiles. TRUMPF’s portfolio covers practically the entire spectrum in this regard. As technology leaders in the field of machine tools and lasers for industrial production, TRUMPF’s products have an impact in virtually all spheres of life. From delicate hands in wristwatches to turbine blades in aircraft – there’s hardly a component in the manufacturing industry that hasn’t been processed with the help of a machine, a laser, a power tool or a generator from the company in Ditzingen. TRUMPF works in partnership with manufacturers in numerous cutting-edge sectors, making special, innovative manufacturing processes possible in the first place. And thus with software and services from a single source, customised turnkey packages are created for industry customers.

TRUMPF showcases its comprehensive range of products and services at Blechexpo, including the latest technical developments and forward-looking solutions. TRUMPF also presented a fascinating preview of the opportunities opened up by the smart factory for the first time at Blechexpo by programming a production process in Stuttgart and running it directly on a machine located in Chicago. Blechexpo visitors were able to witness order processing live in the USA on monitor screens.

TRUMPF’s targeted mission is to further develop and digitally network production technology, making it even more economical, precise and future-proof. Special focus is placed on the objective of making production more efficient – together with its upstream and downstream processes. Consequently, TRUMPF is working towards the industrial world of the future, to which contributions are also being made by software solutions which pave the way to the smart factory, as well as industrial electronics that facilitate high-tech processes. The issues of energy and sustainability also play an important role in these processes.

Within the framework of their cooperative partnership, TRUMPF and Schall are united by their enthusiasm for putting visionary ideas into practice, for advancing future technologies and for always staying a step ahead of technical progress. Both companies pursue cross-industry approaches and think in broader contexts. For example, the presentation of complete process sequences also plays an important role in the conceptualisation of Schall’s trade fairs. TRUMPF and Schall are also united by their clear focus on the needs of their customers. Both companies strive towards process optimisation, while at the same time enhancing quality for the customer. This is exemplified at TRUMPF by the EdgeLine Bevel process which automatically prepares components for welding. It eliminates the need for a separate production step. And post-welding results satisfy the most stringent requirements.

The corporate culture cultivated under the umbrella of the global player from Ditzingen is undoubtedly unique as well. The family-run company with a history dating back roughly 100 years regards its employees as an essential key to its success. This sense of appreciation is reflected in a broad range of offerings and programmes for the advancement and well-being of company employees.

At TRUMPF too, preparations for Blechexpo 2023 are already running at full bore, so that customers and business partners, as well as Schall trade fair promoters, can already look forward to experiencing the latest technologies and ground-breaking advances at TRUMPF’s trade fair booth.

This is precisely why we don’t slack off on the tempo and do what we’ve always been passionate about: making trade fairs for markets!

People will connect at Blechexpo 2023!

Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2023: Full House Expected!

A year before the 16th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal working and the 9th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology begin, preparations are already getting underway. Industry players from the fields of sheet metal working and joining technology will once again stage a celebration of cutting-edge technologies in Stuttgart from the 7th through the 10th of November, 2023. Outstanding booking levels confirm overwhelming interest in modern, forward-looking sheet metal working.

“The halls will be full in 2023,” observes Georg Knauer, project manager of the time-tested Blechexpo/Schweisstec trade fair duo. “They’re already as good as fully booked out,” adds Knauer. “Only a few spaces remain.” The trade fair team has structured the current layout of the nine halls for Blechexpo/Schweisstec on a differentiated basis in order to present trade fair issues dealing with the fabrication of parts made from sheet metal, profiles and pipe in a clear-cut, practice-oriented manner. For example, sheet metal, pipe and profile processing will be the thematic focus in halls 1, 3, 5 and 9. Halls 4 and 6 will be devoted to stamping technology. Cutting, joining and fastening technologies will be presented in hall 7. Hall 8 is reserved for pressing and forming technology. Finally, the issues of steel and metal services, as well as surface finishing technology, will be addressed in hall 10.

Clear-Cut Thematic Structure, Direct Business Contacts

Thanks to the thematically focused, practice-oriented format, the international expert audience will be able to plan an efficient visit to the trade fair. Traditionally, Schall’s event concept is based on the staging of pragmatic technical trade fairs with working character. Exhibitors and expert visitors benefit from the well-defined thematic structure and direct practical relevance, as well as the practicability and the synergy effects offered by the trade fair duo. Blechexpo/Schweisstec covers the entire process sequence for sheet metal working. The line-up includes efficient process technologies for modern laser technology, fully automated robotic sheet metal processing machines, precision tools and systems for punching, bending, braking and forming, as well as innovative micro-waterjet cutting technologies.

“It’s noteworthy that many new first-time exhibitors will present their companies at Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2023,” says Georg Knauer. “And it’s also interesting to note that quite a few exhibitors who had interrupted their trade fair activities in recent years are now coming back.” Requests for increased booth floor space were also received in many cases immediately following Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2021. “This can surely be explained by the fact that the value of a live trade fair has since become crystal clear, for which there can be no substitute,” explains the project manager. “The capital goods industry relies on being able to examine machines and processes live and in person at trade fairs. Personal discussion and the opportunity of comparing solutions directly is only available here at this invaluable industry meet.”

“Best Award 2023” – Innovation Award at Blechexpo/Schweisstec
