More InformationcoilDNA offers a patented technology for tracking continuously manufactured materials (metals, plastics) and the parts made from them. The core of the technology is a code consisting of 14 non-repeating alphanumeric characters that is applied to the top and/or bottom of a product (coil) in one or more tracks along its entire length. The code is invariant to division and can therefore also be read after stamping, for example of automotive parts. The code can be applied using industrial inkjet printers or lasers at high production speeds of up to 500 m/min, which is impossible with barcodes or QR codes.
coilDNA offers cloud-based functionalities for identifying products and allocating material, production and quality data to the physical product at every stage of the value chain. Modern communication tools for exchanging product-related information complement the service. Data transfer to and from coilDNA is realised via RESTful web services using API calls, enabling a simple connection to existing production planning and control systems without the need for additional software.
coilDNA therefore supports more sustainable working practices. Accurate tracking of materials enables scrap and waste to be reduced and resources to be utilised more efficiently. Connecting the product with its digital twin, regardless of further processing, opens up previously unimagined potential for optimisation.
