Speeding up the prozess chain
A new feature developed for the SPI SheetMetal product line is the automatic creation of three views including fully dimensioned flat pattern with minimal effort. The new function saves the user several cumbersome individual work steps to perform. Used sheet formats can be defined as "Favorite" and then automatically used to create the drawing. In one step, the three views and the unfolding are automatically generated and dimensioned precisely.
The SPI CAD Viewer is an application for quickly viewing GEO files without having to start a CAD program. A practical tool for controlling data in design, sales and workfloor. It is now possible to attach both text and barcodes (QR code) as engraving, laser cutting or punching to a sheet metal part. The text function allows the placement of user-defined text anywhere on the sheet metal part. The size and rotation of the text can be adjusted. The size, diameter and spacing of the pixels of the code can also either be saved as a preset or set individually for each code. Each code can contain any text information and can be easily scanned throughout the manufacturing process.
Another tool that ensures optimized processes is SPI's SheetMetal Calculator, an add-on to SheetMetal CAD software. The calculation of costs that is carried out during the design process includes the work steps that the designer uses as part of his design. In doing so, he uses the parameters of a set of rules that only allows the following steps possible with the material used. For each 3D CAD model, it is possible to analyze in detail which parameters underlie the design in order to calculate the costs incurred. The data can then be output in a user-configurable PDF file or transferred directly to ERP systems for further use within the processes.
