Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2021: “Well on the Way!”

Together with the 8th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology, the 15th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal processing will take place from the 26th through the 29th of October, 2021. Once again next year, the well-established trade fair duo will attract experts from all over the world to Stuttgart with its comprehensive range of products and services for thermal and mechanical processing of sheet metal, pipe and profiles, as well as welding, joining and fastening technology.

Frickenhausen, 01 July 2020 – The complementary trade fair duo including Blechexpo and Schweisstec has been demonstrating its outstanding and unique process competence for years. It’s known as a recognised technology and knowledge platform for thermal and mechanical processing of sheet metal, pipe and profiles, processing machines, equipment for punching, bending, braking and forming, right on up to peripherals including controls and software, and solutions for handling and quality assurance. The great esteem enjoyed by this industry highlight, which takes place once every two years, was substantiated by the trade duo held in 2019 at which numerous records were broken: 1498 exhibitors from 36 countries participated at the event. 41,152 visitors from a total of 113 countries came to Stuttgart to gather information about innovations in the areas of sheet metal processing, cutting and joining technology, as well as forming and welding technology. Nine entirely filled halls, 45% foreign exhibitors and with 108,000 square metres more booth floor space than ever before – project manager Georg Knauer was every bit as satisfied as the exhibitors. Blechexpo/Schweisstec is and will remain a leading trade fair with great significance.

Be Amongst the Best – Bookings for 2021 are On the Rise

“We’re well on our way again for 2021,” says the project manager. “Bookings are picking up again at the international level as well,” confirms Georg Knauer. Floor space has been increased for some of the booths in halls one and three, and expansion extends all the way into hall five. The project team at trade fair promoters P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG is working out and firming up the key issues and the supplementary programme for October 2021. Once again, the main thrust will involve a strictly practice-oriented trade fair concept.

Getting the Digital Transformation Underway

Sheet metal handling and processing are key issues in all manufacturing sectors. In large numbers of production plants, the manufacturing process begins with coil handling and subsequent work steps

including punching, bending, pressing and braking, which are being automated to an ever greater extent. The consistently digitalised world of sheet metal processing and metalworking will thus be one of the main themes covered at Blechexpo/Schweisstec. Modern cutting technologies, such as high-pressure water-jet cutting, are also attracting attention again. The trade fair duo deals with technological developments in the midst of a rapidly changing production world – for example, modern joining and fastening technology is becoming more and more important because many new plain and hybrid materials cannot be thermally joined or cut, and can only be processed by means of mechanical joining technologies.

Blechexpo/Schweisstec’s up-to-the-minute product and service offerings open up new approaches and comprehensive, genuine solutions to users for all problems associated with sheet metal processing. Expert visitors benefit from the highly practical, process-oriented and time-saving synergy effects provided by the trade fair duo.
