BLECHexpo and SCHWEISStec with Record Breaking Results
Sheet metal meets business: 645,000 square feet of overall exhibition floor space, 910 exhibitors with a high percentage coming from outside of Germany, more than 25,000 expert visitors and lots of machines sold directly at the event – the premiere at the trade fair’s new venue at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre was a complete success!
Sheet metal meets business – this was the motto in accordance with which trade fair organisers P. E. Schall GmbH & Co. KG promoted the combination event including the 8th BLECHexpo and the 1st SCHWEISStec at its new location at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre from the 13th through the 16th of June, 2007. Anticipated with great excitement, opened with great expectations on the 13th of June, and closed with record breaking results on the 16th of June – the venture has been well worthwhile for all! With 645,000 square feet of overall exhibition floor space, as well as 856 exhibiting companies and 54 additionally represented firms from 25 countries all over the world, entirely new dimensions have opened up to BLECHexpo and SCHWEISStec at the new location, which is now open for business to a great degree.
From Previously 14,000 to More Than 25,000 Expert Visitors!
The same applies to the impressive numbers of actually counted expert visitors, namely 25,172, of whom more than 15% journeyed to Stuttgart from foreign countries near and far. And this number becomes especially impressive when one considers the fact that roughly 14,000 expert visitors attended the last BLECHexpo at the old venue in Sinsheim – and even this number is outstanding. The promoter and the exhibitors are of course quite pleased with the fact that it was possible to achieve growth of this magnitude, and the exhibitors were able to announce good to very good business and contact activities.
Sold, Sold, Sold – the Industry Boom Continues
Monika Frank, project manager of the combination event including the 8th BLECHexpo and the 1st SCHWEISStec explains: “Sold signs hung from numerous machines at the end of the event which, according to information provided by the respective exhibitors, were ordered for the most part directly at the trade fair. The atmosphere was great right from the very start, and was sustained in a lasting fashion thanks to increasing sales success.
We’ve received lots of praise from the exhibitors as well, and our unswerving decision to move to Stuttgart, even in the face of opposition from one source or the other, has been fully confirmed.”
Just Under 30% Foreign Exhibitors
With 648 exhibitors and 30 additionally represented companies, the greatest portion of exhibitors came, as usual, from Germany. However, foreign countries demonstrated their presence to the greatest extent ever with 208 exhibitors and 24 additionally represented companies, making it plainly apparent that BLECHexpo and SCHWEISStec are playing a decisive role as a communication and sales platform in the world’s most important market. Foreign exhibitor participation amounting to 29.6% and the above mentioned 15% figure for foreign expert visitors, both of which have grown since the last event, are strong indications of just how important the combination event including BLECHexpo and SCHWEISStec has now become.
Successful Schweisstec Premiere
The premiere event for the SCHWEISStec trade fair closed successfully too. Conceptual sponsor ZVEI Fachverband Elektroschweißgeräte (technical society for electrical welding equipment) as well as its member companies and other industry enterprises were extremely satisfied and overwhelmed by the atmosphere. As was also the case with BLECHexpo exhibitors, the fact that numerous customers and interested parties from northern, western and eastern Germany, as well as many from outside of Germany, attended the event, which may well result in concrete business transactions, was evaluated as highly positive. The (double) premiere at the new location at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre has thus been a full success in every respect. Construction of the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre will be entirely finished when the 9th BLECHexpo and the 2nd Schweisstec take place from the 17th through the 20th of June in 2009, providing for further growth potential.
