Ready to Go in Stuttgart: 8th BLECHEXPO and 1st SCHWEISSTEC
With full power all the way to the goal and beyond – since the event was first founded as SÜDBLECH in 1994 with roughly 53,000 square feet of overall exhibition floor space, BLECHEXPO has expanded in just 13 years to more than 645,000 square feet for the event in 2007.
The great majority of the initial 86 exhibiting companies who participated in 1994 will be on board once again this year, comprising BLECHEXPO’s hard core – and the number of exhibitors is now approaching the magic number of 900. The 8th BLECHEXPO, together with the 1st SCHWEISSTEC, has thus expanded by a factor of 10 during the 13 years of its existence, which can only be interpreted as a true success story. Beyond this, the loyalty of the original exhibitors, as well as new companies from inside and outside of Germany who have added their names to the exhibitor list over the past 13 years, proves that BLECHEXPO, which is situated at the heart of the market, is attributed a great deal of importance as an industry platform for active sales. Because private trade fair promoter Paul E. Schall’s maxim, “making trade fairs for markets”, is truly put into actual practice for exhibitors and visitors at this event.
With Leaps and Bounds to New Dimensions
Alone the great leaps achieved since the last event in Sinsheim in the year 2005 with 430,000 square feet of overall exhibition floor space and 694 exhibiting companies make it plainly apparent that BLECHEXPO and SCHWEISSTEC are quickly on their way to becoming the world’s leading trade fair team in the fields of sheet metal processing, as well as joining, welding and bonding technology. According to project manager Monika Frank who is responsible for BLECHEXPO and SCHWEISSTEC, this is also made readily apparent by development with regard to participation of both foreign and domestic companies:“In 1994 we had 54 domestic and 12 directly exhibiting foreign companies, and a total of 86 participating companies resulting in foreign participation of just under 25%. This ratio has changed very little over the years. However, the events in 2007 demonstrate entirely new dimensions with, at the moment, 640 German and 246 foreign exhibitors (872 participating companies), based upon the potential of all relevant domestic and foreign suppliers from the respective industries.”
Quality Alone Prevails in Every Respect
The fact that this continuing success, which has been expressly confirmed as a result of the event’s relocation to Stuttgart – due to growth in exhibitor numbers and occupied floor space – is not only something to be proud of, but brings responsibility as well, will be underscored once again in 2007 with a world class seminar and forum program. Expert visitors will thus have the opportunity of gathering comprehensive information in a compact format, and protecting their investment decisions. The panel discussion entitled “How can quality and safety be assured? Do tests conducted by the trade journals have any value as a control instrument?” provides just one example of the recognised high quality offered by the seminar and forum presentations, at which critical topics such as CE conformity and product quality will be addressed, as well as how quality-conscious manufacturers can distance themselves from the black sheep, and how users can protect themselves from them.
The 8th BLECHEXPO and the 1st SCHWEISSTEC will take place at their new venue, the new Stuttgart Exhibition Centre, from the 13th through the 16th of June, 2007. And thus the trade fair team will place the new exhibition centre into service in early summer 2007, although the official opening is scheduled for fall 2007.
