Trade fair duo Blechexpo and Schweisstec from 1 through 4 December 2009 at the new Stuttgart Exhibition Centre is already announcing more than 50% growth in booked floor space.
Over a million square feet of exhibition floor space are currently being allocated. Only 645,000 square feet were occupied at the last Blechexpo/Schweisstec in 2007. With its relocation from Sinsheim to Stuttgart in December 2007, the Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal processing opened up entirely new dimensions for the first time. With 645,000 square feet, the exhibition centre which was only partially open at that time offered 50% more room than the previous venue in Sinsheim, and the 8th Blechexpo, together with the 1st Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology, completely filled it up. 920 companies exhibited (226 more than in 2005), and 25,172 expert visitors gathered information about the industry’s latest developments and trends.
Planning for the trade fair duo which is held once every two years is once again running at full bore. Already today, a year before the trade fair opens, it’s becoming apparent that Blechexpo 2009 will once again experience strong growth. Blechexpo/Schweisstec project manager Monika Frank reports: “There are more RFQs and bookings than ever before – in particular companies from foreign European countries, especially Italy, Spain, Poland and Turkey, are demonstrating increased interest in trade fair presence. There are lots of new registrations in the areas of pipe and profile processing. 50% more floor space is already being planned for the field of forming technology.” A total of more than a million square feet of exhibition floor space is currently in the allocation phase. This amounts to floor space growth of more than 50% as compared with 2007.
Blechexpo 2009 will be ideally supplemented with Schweisstec for the second time. With its focus on the topic of joining technologies, Schweisstec will present all relevant mechanical and thermal joining and bonding techniques, as well as thermal cutting and welding processes.
